Che Joy is an award winning performance poet, whose poetry swings between
themes on love, gender, the human personality dynamics and the resurgence of
Africa. She has performed at various platforms such as; Abuja Literary and Arts
Festival, Lagos international poetry festival, Slameroun international poetry
festival, Word Splash Poetry Festival and APWAL fine arts festival.
She was a guest performance poet at the Corporate Women in Leadership Summit
Cameroon 2022. In 2023 she performed at the United Nations House in Abuja,
Nigeria In celebration of the international world peace day.
In a Spoken Word Performance she Collaborated with The Kukah Center on
Combating Gender Based Violence at the Public Presentation of The National
Ethical Policy for Combating Gender-Based Violence in Nigeria teaming with Ford
Foundation at the Shehu Musa Yarahdua centre.
And an outstanding performance at Women With Words in celebration of the 16
days of activism against gender based violence.
She is the 1st Runner up Winner of the UTUKUFU virtual poetry contest 2023, 1st
Runner up at the Grand Slam of Abuja Literary & Arts Festival 2023, 1st runner
up at ANA (Association of Nigeria MN Authors) Poetry slam 2023 and Top 10 at
Lagos international poetry festival Slam 2023.
